Some part of me would like to punch that judge in his snotty face. Okay, no, I even agree that the stage isn't a place for therapy. It IS (however) a perfect place for CATHARSIS... and the beauty of a break through is something that should be praised, NOT tormented as if YOU (judge) own the whole show. ALL that judge is worth is a paper with a written score... points... like they can even quantify the true capacity of art or one's ability to reach and touch the emotions of every pair of ears in that auditorium. Points can be earned by a d*mn robot, but that doesn't make me enjoy the piece. Chopin, Mozart, Bach... all the way to Freddie Mercury who said it best, were all the same. "Who me? Oh I'm not special darling. I'm just a wh*re for the attention! Why would I play on stage exactly as you could hear from an album for $20? Why would you pay $50 for a ticket if it's exactly the same?"
