Engineers from around the world have gathered for the full-scale operation of "Pacific Buoy," an offshore facility to connect security cameras owned by the worldwide police forces. A test of a certain "new technology" based on a face recognition system is underway there. Meanwhile, Conan and the Detective Boys visit Hachijo-jima at Sonoko's invitation and receive a phone call from Subaru Okiya informing them that a Europol employee was murdered in Germany by the Black Organization's Jin. Conan, who is disquieted, sneaks into the facility and finds that a female engineer has been kidnapped by the Black Organization...! Furthermore, a USB drive containing certain information in her possession ends up in the hands of the organization... A black shadow also creeps up on Ai Haibara ...

On their way home from high school, Tamahi and some classmates are shocked as they witness someone fall from the rooftop of nearby apartment. Panicked and confused, they rush to the building only to find it deserted. As Tamahi wonders about this, she has the uneasy feeling they are being watched. What is the strange presence around her...

24th Detective Conan Movie. Japan is celebrating the upcoming World Sports Games (WSG), the world's largest sporting event, in Tokyo. The "Japanese Bullet," the world's first vacuum-tube super-conducting linear train, is built with the latest Japanese technology and timed to coincide with the WSG opening ceremonies. The train is set to run from Shin Nagoya Station to Tokyo Station at up to 1,000 kilometers per hour (about 600 miles per hour). However, a bizarre incident occurs during a party held by famous major sponsors, leading to a string of kidnappings of top executives. Conan deduces a possible link to serial abductions in the WSG 15 years earlier in Boston.

One day, when Remu Mikage is on a video call with his sister, Shiki, who has traveled to the futuristic Okinotori-island Mega Float City for school, she confesses that both the audio and visuals of her are completely artificial. In order to be more efficient in her studies, Shiki has used neural-linked nanomachines to upload her consciousness onto a computer and is storing her physical body in a "body pool." While shocked, Remu is supportive of his sister's decision, until the disaster known as the "Early Rapture" happens. The Early Rapture causes everyone who has uploaded their consciousnesses to either fall into a coma or perish. Remu visits his sister's empty apartment one last time, but is shocked when Shiki arrives at the door. With no memory of her family or past, and being pursued by a violent group of researchers, Shiki and her brother are forced to flee using her newfound power of nanomachine manipulation.
