Gintama is the closest to a "perfect" anime
now note this is 300+ eps we're talking about with heaps of room to fk up. youd expect the inevitable battle shounen curse to ruin everything with bad pacing, boring fillers or periodic burnouts but gintama somehow dodges this pitfall not cos its got the most as s clenching storyline but by having every type of story u could want
whether its romance, scifi, horror, comedy, sol or action, gintama literally doesnt miss anything and it nails them all. its actually hard to be burnt out cos the variety keeps it from having that one dimensional formulaic rut most shounen suffer from and even the fillers blend in just like any other ep (theres even a filler ep explaining why fillers or bad pacing happen lol)
what rly takes the cake for me tho is the sudden heavy hitting serious arcs in between those goofy sol eps i just mentioned. idk what it is, whether that it kinda mimics lifes ups and downs or cos you've unknowingly grown attached to these characters just being up to the dumbest shi in their everyday lives so when you see them fighting for their lives the emotional payoff just hits way harder. either way, youd never expect any of these characters to make u shed tears for them. it rly is the whole package...
