Christmas is the most obvious mass delusion ever and people still defend it like their life depends on it, every year it is the same fake cheer, the same recycled songs, the same pressure to spend money you do not have while corporations and the government hide behind tradition and family values like that magically makes it wholesome. A made up old man watches you, you are told when to be happy, when to buy, when to smile, and somehow you are the problem if you do not play along. It is not magical, it is manufactured, and the instant rage people feel when you point that out just proves how well the distraction works.
